Director of Business Development

Role Overview

As a Director of Business Development, you will identify sales leads, generate new business and drive revenue growth for all BU’s. In conjunction with the [IG]’s Chief Sales Officer, you will develop and execute the Sales Initiative, prepare proposals and lead the live presentations. Additionally, you will develop and maintain strong, positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and BU’s across all three [IG] global regions.

Role Responsibilities

  • Pursue new business opportunities for all five (5) [IG] BU’s
  • Research prospective clients thoroughly and deliver pitches based on client’s current and predicted future needs
  • Identify & pursue new opportunities based on [IG]’s current global target list
  • Present [IG]’s trademarked methodology
  • Obtain RFP’s and oversee proposal development
  • Represent [IG] at industry and networking events, leveraging your network
  • Provide direction for marketing and PR initiatives that will help support sales
  • Keep abreast of trends and innovation in live events, culture consulting, brand strategy and communications.
  • Cold calling for new business, ensuring a robust pipeline
  • Ensure senior leadership is updated on existing and new client relationships
  • Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Track & record activity on accounts to close deals and meet your targets

Qualifications

  • Extensive sales experience within an agency environment
  • Exceptional pre-existing client relationships
  • A strong passion and natural flair for sales including developing and maintaining relationships with a range of existing and prospective clients
  • Outstanding presentation skills with a natural ability to talk confidently to large-scale events, experiential and marketing campaigns
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong cold-calling and negotiation skills
  • A deep understanding of marketing principles
  • A pro-active attitude, regularly demonstrating initiative
  • Proven skills in identifying customer needs and challenges and addressing these in a clear and timely manner
  • A proven track-record of closing sales
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and/or Keynote, Salesforce
